Ignited Golden Freddy Navigation

Ignited Golden Freddy is one of the secret antagonists of The Joy of Creation franchise, and is a member of The Ignited. He is first introduced in The Joy of Creation: Story Mode. He is also the overarching antagonist of The Joy of Creation: Story Mode, serving as the leader of The Ignited as well as instructing Michael on how to release his species into the real world. Additionally, when he is defeated in Attic, the final level, the haunting in-universe ends and the supernatural entities of the story disappear.

He first appears as a quinary antagonist in Bedroom as a non-hostile Easter Egg in the form of an upside-down head staring directly at the player, as well as a hostile antagonist when the player loses all of their sanity. He also has a nonmaterial, non-hostile role in the game as the spirit to give the player the secret newspapers in every memory. He is also a secondary antagonist in a nonmaterial hostile form in Basement, as well as in a nonmaterial, aggressive form in Attic. He also has his most impacting role in the franchise in Attic, as the player must locate him on the monitor and flash him 12 times total to complete the level.

Ironically, despite being an enemy in the game, and possibly the most lethal antagonist in the franchise, he plays the role of deuteragonist in Basement, being the spirit to puppet Michael around in order to release all of the entities into the real world as physical beings, as well as guide him through the relentless attacks from The Fallen. This means Ignited Golden Freddy is the only enemy in the franchise to work with a protagonist.

Appearance[]

Ignited Golden Freddy's overall appearance is nearly identical to Ignited Freddy's, but the animatronic's textures are a dirty gold instead of brown. His eyes are black and empty, with white pupils appearing at occasional times. Like Ignited Freddy, the suit covering his shins and left forearm are gone, exposing the endoskeleton. His left arm's shoulder suit is also missing. He lacks hands, replacing his right hand as an endoskeleton arm that lacks a hand. Disturbingly, he has a dirty, withered and melted appearance, and has wires at his right arm. He has a black hat, as the same one resembling to Ignited Freddy's hat, but he leaks out his right ear.

Background[]

Ignited Golden Freddy first appears as a full form in The Joy of Creation: Story Mode and will appear in a revamp of the game in The Joy of Creation: Ignited Collection. He is known to appear in no other games beyond these two.

He is supposedly the force behind everyone attacking the family in the game, as his defeat in Attic leads to the rest of the characters in the game who have the task of killing the human characters to disappear after the event, never appearing again in future events. This does not include Ignited Golden Freddy himself, as he appears in the present day in the first opening cutscene for Basement outside the final window. As well as this, Ignited Golden Freddy is known for his demands to Nick Cawthon, urging him to return to the Cawthon residence as he waits outside for him via altering his memories to contain the message of "COME BACK" when he ends up misremembering. Ignited Golden Freddy made this demand in order to give himself the advantage and finally kill Nick by his own hand 20 years later.

Ignited Golden Freddy is the source of every newspaper that appears in the house, from the default newspapers given to Nick in the present day to the secret newspapers given to the level protagonists in the past. It can be deduced from this that he tells Nick to return to the house in order to find out for himself what happened before he is led up to the Attic and murdered by a hiding Ignited Golden Freddy.

History[]

The Joy of Creation: Story Mode[]

Bedroom[]

Ignited Golden Freddy first appears in Bedroom, if you completely lose sanity (or Ignited Chica jumpscares you when your sanity is red). Once the sine wave playing inside the player's head stops and drops down when their sanity has been present in the "red" condition, a cutscene will play where the player wakes up in their crib in the middle of a forest, before Ignited Golden Freddy's Head appears and a flash of text that reads "COME BACK".

Attic[]

Ignited Golden Freddy's first, and only, role as a threat franchise-wide is in Attic. In order to beat the level, the player must find him in the cameras and use a charged light next to the monitor to get rid of him, repeating the process twelve times after.

Ignited Golden Freddy will appear in any of the house cameras that Creation is not on, and sometimes will leave those cameras and appear behind you as a floating and disembodied head. When he is behind you, looking at him will cause hallucinations of Ignited Freddy, Ignited Bonnie, and Ignited Chica. Death occurs if you don't turn away quick enough, specifically within 2 seconds of him appearing in the attic. However, it is necessary to look at him momentarily while he is behind you, as he will not return to the cameras until you do so.

When he is in the house cameras, you must flash him with the breaker switch to "destabilize" him. The more you do this, the more the Golden Freddy plush to the right of the screen and Ignited Golden Freddy (when he is behind you) will appear to become more and more distorted, and the house will start burning. This affects Creation, as he will move faster if the room he occupies is burning. But no matter how long the player takes to defeat Ignited Golden Freddy, you will not die from the fire.

His mechanic is subtly hinted at by combining the factors of the unorthodox objects on the player's desk, those being the incoherent digital clock to the left side of the monitor, and the Golden Freddy plush used to determine the player's progress on the right side, featuring the breaker lever used to attack him.

Secret Appearances[]

Main article: Secret Newspapers

All methods of spawning Ignited Golden Freddy are how the player can obtain the secret news article, with the exception of the insanity encounter in Bedroom.

Bedroom[]

In Bedroom, hold the curtains closed until Michael tells you that Freddy is outside the window. Opening the curtains will reveal Ignited Golden Freddy staring at Nick through the window. After about 1 second, he will disappear, and a newspaper snippet will appear on the CELEBRATE! poster behind the crib. This snippet is actually a hidden piece of the newspaper article from the end of Five Nights at Freddy's 3. It details the real Scott Cawthon having waking nightmares about Bonnie sneaking into his bedroom at night for some reason.

Living Room[]

In Living Room, the player must then go look through the keyhole where Ignited Bonnie comes through as soon as Michael says "keyholes." Looking through the keyhole will show Ignited Golden Freddy briefly, and a hidden snippet of a newspaper article detailing the success of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise will then appear above the door handles.

Office[]

In Office, the player must open the double doors in front of the monitors whenever Scott mentions Ignited Freddy during his recording. where Ignited Golden Freddy will be standing there briefly, before disappearing. This will reveal another hidden newspaper snippet, which can be found in the top drawer of the filing cabinet closest to Ignited Chica. It details Scott's family searching for him after the blaze.

Basement[]

In Basement, while in Endo F's hall, turn around after being told not to, and walk back towards the start. After a few steps, a newspaper snippet will appear on the wall. The player must be very careful when grabbing this, however, as waiting too long will result in Endo F rushing the player from the front and the game is over. This snippet details a notorious arsonist finally being arrested.

Attic[]

In Attic, honk the Golden Freddy plushie's nose 10 times consecutively until Ignited Golden Freddy's laugh is heard, and then turn around, and then look back at the plush. If done correctly, a hand-drawn note will then appear in-between the plushie's legs. Click the note, and it will appear in the Attic's hidden newspaper slot. The note displays one message written in red, "COME BACK TO US, NICK!". The background of the image displays a silhouette of Ignited Golden Freddy's face in the forest outside of the house.
